european travel
Touring Europe by motorcycle is probably the best way to really experience much of what is on offer; especially France. Nurturing the creative spirit and challenging one-self by doing something that out of the ordinary make for a journey of a lifetime. All done on a majestic 2000 Triumph Adventurer.

For as long as I can remember, my father always advised, ‘take life by the horns and experience every there is, no matter how difficult it may seem'. For the rewards in life come from stepping outside ones comfort zone. I suppose this adage explains how I ended up in Edinburgh, 16,917 km from home after riding around 10,000 km through Europe from as far south as Crete taking in Greece, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, England, and Wales. The journey completed in a magnificent Triumph Adventurer motorcycle.

journey to france - netherlands: France was never an intended place to spend some serious time touring but after spending about 3 days in the summer of 2001, I vowed that I would return to really investigate the country that holds such allure for many people around the world.
After 6 weeks planning I was ready to embark on a trip of a lifetime on a Triumph Adventurer which I had already ridden from as far south as Crete (Greece) all the way up to Inverness in Scotland.

journey to france - belgium: So, 6 days in The Netherlands and I am reminded that this is one of my favourite places; the country and its people... just wonderful. But more adventures lay ahead and my destination with France. My route to France takes to a few days in the city of Bruges in Belgium.
So leaving Amsterdam, I ride the trusty Triumph south west towards Zeeland but got lost around Maassluis; which many say is very easy to do, especially when you buy a compact map to try and save space.
