Gerroa - 7 Mile Beach - Situated on the coast, just south of Kiama, lies the township of Gerroa, on the Crooked River, at the northern end of 7 Mile Beach. Seven Mile beach, part of the Seven Mile Beach National Park, is a beautiful stretch of golden sand that extends down to the Shoalhaven River near Nowra.

The golden beach has play host to many activities including horse racing, car and motorcycle racing, land speed records (it was the site where the 100mph speed barrier was broken) and more famously, 7 Mile Beach, was where Charles Kingsford-Smith and his "Southern Cross" departed for the first commercial trans-Tasman crossing to New Plymouth in New Zealand in January 1933.

The NSW south coast is an area of spectacular granite cliffs, wonderful surf beaches, beautiful hinterland below the escarpment, and wonderful national parks. The short drive south from Sydney (less than two hours) reveals glimpses of the Pacific Ocean just prior to reaching Wollongong as you descend the Illawarra escarpment at Bulli Pass and the start of the NSW South Coast which extends to Eden near the NSW Victorian border (400kms to the south).
The true beauty of this top Australian destination is revealed at near the seaside town of Kiama with glimpses of Bombo Beach, Bombo Headland and the Kiama Lighthouse. The coast in this region is characterized by the granite cliffs and provides wonderful vistas as one continues down through Gerringong, Gerroa and Seven Mile Beach.
The prominant feature of the north region is the magnificent escarpment of the Great Dividing Range with the rich and fertile dairy country siting below the Southern Highlands. These wonderful elements offer the visitor the best of coastal villages like Gerringong and Gerroa and wonderful towns like Jamberoo and Berry. Venture up the escarpment and the country idyll of Kangaroo Valley presents itself and it is a beautiful as the name suggests.
The large Moreton National Park has some wonderful waterfalls including Fitzroy Falls and Belmore Falls; with many wonderful bushwalking trails.
