What is Joomla:

Joomla

Joomla is fast becoming the standard in CMS (Content Management Systems) and there is good reason for that.  The system allows for an almost endless array of content 'extentions' that expand the functionality of the website. The websites of today are more advanced than a few years ago and website anlaysis is crucial in the ever-expanding and ever-increasing competativeness of the internet.  We offer Google Analytics on all our websites to provide feedback on your website vistors.

Looking to create a new web presence for your business? Or even updating the old one that you have? For a long time, having a website required employing or contracting a specialist to create and maintain your online presence. In a similar way, early computers required specialist programmers to operate the new technology. The CMS website application empowers anyone who can use a computer to manage their own website.

Joomla is a CMS (Content Management System) that is distributed under a GNU/GPL License (free software licence). This basically means that it is software developed by groups of like-minded programmers for the use by the general public.

“Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build websites and powerful online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made it the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, it is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone” ) from the Joomla website.

How does it work?

Joomla makes things simple! It is an application that empowers the user to easily manage their website. Basically, if you can use a computer you can use the CMS application.

The initial steps into the simpler world of Joomla can be a little confusing and like learning to ride a bike,… after a few tentative moments (with a securing hand) it will be easy and second nature.

Lumieres can assist in these early stages of setting up a South Coast website and have you editing your site with a short time after installation. Once up and running, we can offer partial management of the site (security updates, backups Search Engine Optimization, statistics and Google analytics.), or even full management and ongoing development of your site.

If you currently have a website, we can easily transpose the content to an easily manageable Joomla website or we can develop a totally new site for you.

Joomla also offers a vast array of extensions to expand the functionality of your site. And in line with the idea of simplicity of operation, these extensions can be incorporated into your site with a simple download from Joomla, uploaded to you site and be operational within minutes.

If I go with Joomla, will my website look like everyone else’s?

Definitely not! While there may be common 'backend' characteristics to Joomla, there are many ways to customise the look and feel of your Joomla website. There are many Joomla templates available (some are free and some cost a small amount.. when you think about the work that goes into these templates and the and the time it saves, it is a small price to pay for convenience ). Joomlashack has many great templates on offer and also provide a very helpful forum section - as well as some nice add-ons for your website.

What happens to unused 'Time Included'?

If there is no website work directed by you or not all of the ‘Time Included' is utilised for the month, then the time will be used for content development, SEO activities and layout development (after discussion) and will include things suggested in monthly feedback covering strategies and suggestions. (Under Site-Development arrangements, this is flexible as per mutual agreement)
