What elements can be integrated into my website?
The list is almost endless; it is really up to the imagination of other who build the extensions for the Joomla CMS and ancillary applications. The most common extensions and elements we include on a website are summarised as follows.
But how do I edit my site?
Editing your website is as easy as using a word processor (Microsof Word etc) thanks to the use of a WYSIWYG editor. WYSIWYG stands for What You See Is What You Get. Basically, if you can type using a keyboard, you can edit the content of your website. The application will format it correctly, allow you to add special effects etc and even spell check your content. It doesn't get any easier than that!
The WYSIWYG editor alos allows you to include multimedia and also pop-up images and content.
Multi Media: Images
A good website is not only about words but also other forms of displayed information like images, video, flash animation, sound etc. It brings a site to life, enhances the visitor experience and encourages people to stay longer on your website and look deeper into what content you are offering. But it is not just about putting all and sundry onto the website and hoping that it all works. There needs to be a balance between the types of multi-media and also they need to be incorporated properly so the correct formatting is maintained.

Google Maps:
Google Maps is a basic mapping service application provided by Google that enables web browsers to display scalable maps of the world from a satellite view of the world all the way down to street level. The Google Map application can also be implemented into external websites through the use of the Google Map API.
The application is further expended into Joomla with the Google Maps plugin that not only allows map display in the Joomla CMS but also interactive maps that utilise Google Earth files (KML and KMZ files) for more advanced content display in maps.

Google Analytics:
Every one knows the importance of a good website and good web presence, even more important is how the website functions in the vast oceans of the World Wide Web. An easy to use and easy to install application that enables a quick analytical tool is Google Analytics. A free service offered by Google, GA generates detailed statistics on website visitors.
The detail information provide by GA provides great insight into:
- Who visits your site
- How they reached you site
- Time Spent on your site
- Pages visited
